What is the Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph Youth Survey?
This local survey collects self-reported information from grade 7 and 10 students about their well-being. It is a survey that provides schools, school boards, and local service agencies with an understanding of students' health and development. Results identify local issues that could be addressed by school boards and service providers.
The Youth Survey is completed every three years so that we're able to monitor trends over time. It was first implemented during the 2011-12 school year and again during the 2014-15 school year. Students completing it during the 2017-18 school year will be the third cohort of students to respond to the survey.
Why is the survey important?
The survey helps us get valuable information about health and health behaviours directly from youth. It also gives youth a chance to share their views and inform the planning of local services. When we understand the needs of youth, decision makers in the community can respond accordingly. Answers provided through the survey will help make our community a better place to live and grow.
