Annual income is the total amount of money a person earns in one year from all income sources. A person's income is closely linked to their job, level of education, and local economic opportunities. Income is a determinant of health. Children living in families with lower annual incomes are more likely to have poorer health and developmental outcomes.[1]
Median after-tax income by family type |
About the MeasureMedian income is the dollar amount that divides the incomes of the population into two equal groups. Half the population earns incomes above that amount, and the remaining half of the population earns incomes below that amount. This measure provides information about the financial resources available to households and estimates the economic status of a region. Key FindingsSince 2012, the median after-tax income for couple families and lone parents has increased across Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph. The median after-tax income for couple families was nearly twice the median after-tax income for lone parent families. For both couple and lone parent families, median after-tax incomes in Wellington, Dufferin and Guelph were higher than the median after-tax income in Ontario. Loading Chart...
