About the MeasureThis data is collected from the Better Outcomes Registry and Network (BORN), a provincial program that collects data related to mother and infant health.[4] The preterm birth rate measures the number of infants born before 37 weeks per 100 live births. Key FindingsAcross Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph, the preterm birth rate has remained fairly stable between 2013 and 2018. In 2018, the preterm birth rate was slightly higher in Dufferin (8.5 per 100 live births) and Guelph (8.6 per 100 live births) than in Wellington (6.4 per 100 live births). This data can be found in the downloadable Excel file at the bottom of this page.
