Transition to post-secondary refers to the educational pathways that youth take after they graduate high school. Individuals in post-secondary education or training include those who are completing a certificate or diploma in an apprenticeship or trade or who are enrolled at a college or university. Young adults in post-secondary education or training gain valuable skills that are important for success throughout their lives.[1]

About the MeasureThe measure represents all youth, aged 15 to 24, who have a high school diploma and are attending or have completed a post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree program. Key FindingsIn 2016, Guelph (81.5%) had the highest percentage of youth who completed or were enrolled in post-secondary education compared to youth in Wellington (72.8%) and Dufferin (71.3%). Across Wellington-Dufferin-Guelph, the percentage of youth who attended or graduated from a post-secondary school increased slightly between 2006 and 2016.
